Samsung released their new middle range phone Samsung Wave 578 in the MWC Samsung Pre-event along with Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab2 tablet. The most striking features of the Wave 578 is the Samsung’s own operating system OS Bada and a built in NFC chip like the one present in Nexus S. Unlike the other mobile phones in the Wave series, Samsung Wave 578 has a metallic back, round glass cover over the lens opening of camera. Detailed specifications are given below.
The display of Samsung Wave 578 is a 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touch screen with a display resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. It has features of the usual touch screen phones like multi touch input methods, proximity sensor, accelero meter sensor etc. There is a 3.15 mega pixels camera with VGA image resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. This can ensure some real good quality pictures. The camera can record video clippings with QVGA resolution of 320x 240 pixels at 20 fps. The phone will also have an additional camera of 0.3 mega pixel with VGA resolution. This is specially meant for video calling services in 3G networks. The multimedia features of the phone are rather good with audio and video players. The music player can play files in formats like MP3, AAC etc. It has the ability of music recognition also.
