Samsung mobiles are again a hot topic of discussion with the company set to release the next in its popular Galaxy Note series. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be released on August 29 at the Samsung Mobile ‘Unpacked’ event in Berlin. Speculation is rife about the launch date as it comes just two weeks ahead of the likely release of Apple’s iPhone 5. Both releases are keenly anticipated and hotly debated. While some industry watchers are claiming Apple speeded up its development process to win back the smartphone mobiles market share it lost to Samsung, others are claiming that the South Korean company went all out to seal its dominance over the American company.
Samsung cracked the smartphone market in 2011 to become the world's largest smartphone maker, beating Apple. In the second quarter of 2012 alone, Samsung is estimated to have sold two smartphones for every iPhone sold across the world. Apple’s sales took a beating in the quarter ending June 2012 as the Euro crisis deepened and consumers appeared to prefer waiting for the highly-anticipated iPhone 5. So what will be special about Samsung’s latest offering? Reports indicate that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features are built off the successful features of the Samsung Galaxy S3. The battery will last longer, there will be an Exynos quad core processor and a more robust build so that shock-resistance against potential falls is improved. Samsung Passes Apple, is world’s top smartphone maker.
The screen is likely to be a 5.5 inch ‘unbreakable plane’ (UBP) display, which makes it slightly larger than the 5.3” display that the Samsung Galaxy Note currently provides. Interestingly, the phone is expected to be slimmer because of the UBP. The UBP will allow “more space for the baseband core chip and application processor” leading to a thinner device. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to come pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean 4.1, Google’s latest OS.The phone is expected to retain its signature stylus feature. The phone has an 8MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash. The camera is power-packed with features such as geo-tagging, simultaneous HD video and image recording, face and smile detection and image stabilization technology. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 price tag is yet an unknown quantity though it is expected to compete with Apple. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 pictures are not yet available as company doesn’t wants the excitement to be over. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 expected launch date is 29th August.
