Samsung UltraTouch S8300

Interface: What makes Samsung UltraTouch S8300 mobile phone exciting is due to its design; the screen, camera and controls. Under the hood is a standard range of top-end phone hardware including HSDPA and Wi-Fi. For our money, the real showstopper is the 8-megapixel camera. The lens is protected by the phone's slider and is assisted by an LED photolight in low-light environments. The camera also has a video mode which shoots moving pictures at 30 frames per second in VGA image resolution, making for some very decent YouTube videos. The Samsung UltraTouch S8300 features a decent media player with support for DivX, MPEG4 and WMV video files, plus a range of audio files including. The music player interface is easy to use, and the large screen real estate means you can change settings like the equalisation preset without leaving the "now playing" screen. The video player couldn't be simpler to use, which automatically goes into full-screen mode when you turn the phone on the side. Videos in a variety of formats look fantastic on the AMOLED display. The adapter also doubles as the FM radio antenna for dialling into your favourite radio analog station. What's Good: Excellent 8-megapixel camera. Slim slider form factor. AMOLED display looks amazing. What's Bad: Laggy interface. No 3.5mm headphone socket on the phone. Keypad is cramped and hard to use. Not a smartphone. Bottomline: The Samsung UltraTouch S8300 will get lost in the mix a bit. It's not a smartphone, but it costs as much as one; it looks like a business phone, but it lacks the business usability; plus it's not an excellent touchscreen, which it really needs to be because there's not much else for it to hang its hat on. Samsung SGH E590

Features: The spotlight feature on the triband Samsung E590 is the 3-megapixel camera, which does not come equipped with a flash, LED or convex self-portrait mirror. The camera is equipped with autofocus and the dedicated zoom rocker is a rare and welcome inclusion. The Java World menu option features an array of trial games. A music player, voice recorder, FM radio and Web browser round out the features list. The player has a simple interface. Samsung E590 as a performer: The keys may be small, but they are widely spaced out. The camera performed nicely at higher resolutions, but didn't do so well at the lower end. Shots taken at the minimum resolution looked grainy and shapes were ill-defined. The autofocus offers a lot of flexibility. On the whole, the E590 is a solid phone that performs well. There's no fuss and no performance problems to speak of. We liked it a lot, but if you prefer your gadgets a little more flashy, you might find the look a little bland. Verdict: The Samsung SGH-E590 is a smart little mobile phone that will be loved and adored, it is so cute you would not believe.

Easy and Beatutiful: There's no denying that touchscreen phones are awesome. The F490 feels too light. Glossy surfaces might look good in airports but the F490's reflective plastic screen makes it difficult to see in sunny conditions. We also found that you have to push the screen harder than you would the iPhone's to compose text messages or navigate the menu system, which is disappointing. Magic Moments: An integrated 5 megapixel camera feature comes with all the camera features which allow the user to capture a clear and precise shot when the capture key is pressed. Music On The Move: An integrated music player comes with easy to use play options and the music player can play music in all popular formats. Samsung G800

sam Look and feel: The Samsung G800 is not a big phone and it is almost exactly the same as the hugely popular Samsung U600. However, it is a lot thicker, simply because it houses a top notch camera with 3x optical zoom. The G800 can accommodate a large screen because it's a slider, and - judged by its spring assisted slide mechanism. The keypad offers large well spaced keys and there are only a few short cut keys on the phone's fascia. Easy to use: The phone is very easy to navigate. Holding the phone with both hands in camera mode, the shutter key sits just beneath your right index finger while the zoom control houses just to the left of the shutter key. The camera feels really balanced to hold and all it's controls can be accessed using the phone's joypad and softkeys. Features: The Samsung G800 boasts one of the most impressive feature sets on the market. There's the 5 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and xenon flash, HSDPA data speeds, a good music player, RSS feed readers and a very capable internet browser. But the phone lacks Wi-fi or GPS function. sam Performance: Aside from the disappointing battery the G800 performed beautifully. The camera is fabulous. Battery life: The one disappointing aspect of the G800 is the quality of the battery. If you're only using the phone it's not a problem, but with these features on offer, that's highly unlikely. The SAMSUNG G800 exudes professional style. Sleek and beautiful, this powerful mobile caters to the entertainment seeker !!!
