Samsung Android Smartphone - i5700 Galaxy Spica

Samsung India has launched its second Android based touch screen smart phone handset in the country called as i5700 Galaxy Spica. It is also known as Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite and particularly for the T-Mobile as i5700 Galaxy Portal in Indian market. Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica features hefty 800MHz processor and runs on Google Android OS, v1.5 Operating System. Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica It has a 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen, 3.5 mm audio jack, Accelerometer sensor, 180 MB storage and up to 32 GB expandable memory with microSD card, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, 3.15 MP auto focus camera with Geo-tagging feature and GPS with A-GPS support. i5700 is pre-loaded with social networking features with many Google services, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar and Google Talk applications. A pre-installed application called switchers found in Spica i5700 allows easy access to GPS, bluetooth, Wi-Fi and automated synchronization system. It also supports SMS, MMS, e-mail, Instant messaging, and in-built Gmail client which means all kind of messaging functions. A QWERTY keyboard is provided in it that can be viewed in both portrait and landscape mode. A standard webkit based browser is incorporated in it for rapid and easy browsing. Then there is A-GPS (Assisted GPS) function. This in-built navigational software is nothing but a Google Map, and with an internet connection, you can load maps to share your location with your friends online. Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica Samsung Galaxy i5700 is equipped with a 3.2 MP camera. The absence of features such as flash, colour effects, white balance and contrast could be considered a downgrade though of this mobile phone. But the quality of images it captured cannot be blamed due to this, as it provides good images in natural lighting. There is also a provision to capture videos at a frame rate of 15fps. But the quality of videos made is just average. Samsung i5700 also scores in its multimedia capability. It plays back DivX and Xvid files with a maximum resolution of 720 X 480 pixels. Its audio player is also a standard one and performs well. The handset a good when it comes on the sound quality. The call quality is also clear and loud. Battery too provides a good life time, of nearly three days in case of a proper use. Overall, it is a decent android handset with many a good features.
