Samsung Mobiles is set to launch its new mobile in Galaxy series. It has beeen named Samsung Galaxy S II. The inbuilt OS is Android ice cream sandwich that can be upgraded to Jelly Bean from next month. The update was announced for Singapore markets and soon would reach out to Indian markets. The company has confirmed the news on its Korean website. This would bring a better home screen and faster scrolling. More preloaded apps such as Help, Google+, Talk, Play Books and Play Movies would be available. Other specifiactions such as Easy mode, Block mode, Smart Stay and Pop-up play have been added. You can also pause a movie while recording. The update will be available via Kies software .
This phone has been launched in April 2011 as stated by some websites. Galaxy S II has been very successful in the Indian market. The giant cellphone company is expecting the same for this device. The supported sound formats are mp3 and wav. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack and inbuilt loudspeaker. There is also a microSD card slot that can be expanded to 32 GB. The internal memory is of 16 GB and additional RAM of 1 GB. Data connection options are GRPS, EDGE, wi-fi and bluetooth. USB 2.0 can also be used for data synchronization.
There are two cameras available. The front camera is of 2 MP and the rear camera is of 8 MP with autofocus and LED flash. Geo-tagging and face recognition can be done with the rear camera. The CPU is 1.2 GHZ and a graphics card for faster gaming. Several sensors such as proximity, gyro, accelerometer and compass would be helpful.
