Samsung Galaxy Pocket is a budget smartphone launched by Samsung mobiles in the month of April. The mobile was launched along with Samsung Galaxy S Advance. Samsung Galaxy Pocket price is Rs 6,675. Though the price is low but Samsung Galaxy pocket has many advanced features. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket is powered by 832 MHz ARM 11 processor which helps the mobile to run its applications through Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system. There is no news that whether Samsung Galaxy Pocket will be upgraded to Android 4.0 operating system. Users can view pictures and watch videos on 2.8 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen display. The display has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.
The touchwiz UX UI provides multi touch feature in the display. Besides viewing pictures and watching videos, users can also record videos and take snapshots through a 2 MP rear camera. This camera phone has a 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution includes the feature of geo tagging. The camera is also capable to record videos at 15 fps. The users will have one disappointment that they cannot do video calling and conferencing as the mobile does not include a front facing camera.The users can store their videos snaps, music, and other stuff in the 3GB internal memory. If this is not sufficient, users can expand the external memory up to 32 GB via microSD card. Users can transfer their data through various connectivity features. The data can be transferred to other mobiles or computers using Bluetooth and WLAN. WLAN includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi mobile hotspot.
The Bluetooth included in the handset is of 3.0 version and it comes with A2DP. Users can also get connected to internet through GPRS and EDGE. A HTML browser is available in the phone in which the users can browse the internet. The mobile can also get connected to Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, and Picasa Integration. Other Samsung Galaxy Pocket features include messaging, sensors, GPS, Java through MIDP Emulator. Samsung Galaxy Pocket pictures show that the sleek mobile has a small touchscreen display where users can perform any desired task. Samsung Galaxy Pocket is an entry-level phone from Samsung. Samsung is now at the number one position in the mobile manufacturing and selling business. Other companies like Nokia, Apple, HTC, etc are trying to get that position by launching mobiles in the same range as low-end mobiles are becoming more popular in comparison to high-end mobiles.
